The Facts are These:

I decided to be still for the holidays. I felt too all over the place to make enough sense to construct any posts or even figure out exactly what it is I defined as my style. I was in Mad Genius mode with all of the pieces of my self scattered around like a giant floor puzzle. I have returned, We don't have to mention how much you have missed my wit, style and opinion.

Sheer Dreams

I am such a nerd. I just happened to manifest into a bombshell of a black girl at some point throughout my many awkward years of living. When I was younger i used to make lists of things I really wanted and sort of needed and being sexy was always at the top of this list. You can decide for yourself if my first wish has come true on your own time. Today I tell a tale of a more recent wish come true.

babbling y lace

At first glance this just looks like a mushy post about love and fashion, but it's not. while I was reading this interview in Interview Sept 2011 between Anne Hathaway and Chelsea Handler I thought to myself , "What an odd coupling for an interview." Then I thought to myself "Wow this could have been better and more interesting."  When I read the above quote I said aloud "I've been thinking this forever! Cheers to Anne's mom." Then I looked at the photos and loved the lace. So i decided to blog it. See who needs a tumblr hehe. So here's the actual interview here.

On my hunt for a bit o inspiration i found just a bit. i discovered it's okay to love hats, i am not the only one. i learned plenty of other things also that just happens to be the only one i am sharing right now. i also thought i needed to share these photos from this blog with this guy who has great style and just happens to run into people all over with cool style also. ive got the urge to copycat this look. how can i not? chill.

People keep doing this thing where they feel the need to seem impressive.So we all comprehend: That's not the way to go about impressing people. it's too intense causing me personally to be very turned off and walking in the other direction rather annoyed.

I have been trying to get inspired for what to wear to the Two Point Oh LA picnic on Saturday. While on the hunt I was distracted by Carven Summer 2012. I am a sucker for well placed bows and clean lines. So chic and smooth. Still hunting for what to wear this weekend tho.

Hangin High Lyin Low

One of my favorite things about traveling is staying in hotels and eating at cool restaurants. I recently had a sort of vacation in the city I live in. I was just returning  to Los Angeles from a visit to my mom’s and was offered a chance to stay at a few hip and rather new hotels in the LA area. First on the list was the Joie de Vivre establishment on the very happening Venice Beach strip  a boutique hotel called Hotel Erwin. I am not quite sure who this Erwin fellow is but he must be a really cool cat to house such a chill place to stay in such a chill environment to stay in.  I was welcomed very late one night by the coolest desk clerk with an awesome accent and such great hospitality. The room was definitely no penthouse suite at the four seasons but  I loved the street art on the closet doors and the very mod decorating scheme.I was not able to make it to the connected restaurant called Hash J unfortunately, but I will be stopping by for breakfast sometime and will let you know how it is and also if they serve anything with hash in it. (Wouldn’t that be a delight) My favorite part was the view from the roof top looking down on the venice beach boardwalk and out at the Pacific Ocean. Would I visit this place again or if I were really on vacation? I say most definitely. I would also just go to hang out at the rooftop lounge with a few friends just to have a drink dressed stylishly in my bohemian hippie gear of course. Check it out yourself sometime you are in LA by the beach or grab a room if you live here and had one too many margaritas to drive home from the beach.

Although I have not been with Two Point Oh LA for a full year yet. I have had enough fun to make it feel that way. I am very impressed by the coming together of all the LA fashion bloggers as LA isn't really the coming together sort of place. I am not sure what my picnic attire will be yet, but it has to be fun. I mean can't go to a fashion blogger event looking like a bum. Perhaps bum chic, but definitely not a bum. This is my shout out for all who are far wide and close to come join a few of the cool kids at our celebration. Congrats Two Point Oh on a full year strong!!!

Fireflies and fireworks

This summer I am experiencing more than just California beaches and San Francisco music festivals. I have no idea what to wear in these crazy weathered times. I have pretty much lived in  maxi dresses and the appropriate accessories for the day. Which sometimes includes an umbrella :/. I have a number of bug bites. I am enjoying ice cream, popsicles, and vintage inspired sunglasses. I haven’t indulged in a great deal of pop culture. Im trying to learn French. This editorial inspired me to get off my buns and make a slight effort in the looks department of my life as I have been extremely lazy, with just cause. I am absolutely loving the colors and the draping. it is so glamorous and I have a new obsession with beautiful vintage hats.

i do not live in New York. i would perhaps if my dream job were there or if someone gifted me an amazing apartment there and i would have to have a fabulous bike. i would like to have a fabulous bike here in California too. So of course i absolutely love the photo project...

I have been dreaming and drooling over beautiful floor length gowns forever and wanted to switch my whole wardrobe to feature only dresses, but it is just not practical. I have always been obsessed with floor length gowns and skirts and was so excited when I purchased two floor length racer back tank dresses by Divided from H & M on sale. They are light and long and perfect for layering or wearing with boots, booties, or sandals. I can tie it to make it my desired length and i can play with the draping of it. I have to say my favorite way  to wear a fun floor length gown is just the way i like to live my life, Just let it flow...
